OCCK Blood Drives
OCCK Supports the Red Cross with Local Blood Drives
OCCK partners with the American Red Cross to bring blood drives to many communities in north central Kansas, including Salina, Beloit, Concordia and Abilene, throughout the year. It’s just another way that we support our local communities.
Blood donors report feeling a sense of great satisfaction after making their blood donation. Why? Because helping others in need just feels good.

I am often asked why I donate. There are a few reasons I do but one that is VERY near and dear to my heart. I donate for reasons that most people do like the fact that I am O- and my blood type is in high demand and can help ANYONE. I like to log on to the app and see where my blood donation has been utilized (if you donate and you use the app you can see it all on the “Blood Journey” tab), and I love to be able to help others in need. Yet there is one reason that I donate that ranks up there higher than any other, my daughter. She has a bleeding disorder, Von Willebrand, and the likelihood of her needing to be the recipient of a blood donation at some point in her life is higher than most. I want to be sure that if/when she needs that blood it's there, so I donate as often as I can and I encourage YOU to do the same if you are able! It is a rewarding act for the donor and a small thing I can do to help give life because #thelifeyousavecouldbemydaughterSara Niehues Donor
