OCCK, Inc. is partnering with the Disability Rights Center of Kansas to host a free, three-part series...

This free community talk is designed to support Kansans with disabilities, families, and community-based supports to strengthen their advocacy skills and stay informed about Kansas disability rights laws.

Led by Rocky Nichols, Executive Director of the Disability Rights Center of Kansas (DRC), each session offers real-world strategies for navigating new and existing laws — including the person-centered guardianship law taking effect in 2026. Attendees will gain insight into Medicaid rights, appeals processes, assistive technology access, and ways to support natural networks such as families, caregivers, and advocates.

Whether you’re a person with a disability, a parent, a caregiver, or a professional working in the field, this series will help you understand your rights, navigate Kansas disability systems, and advocate effectively for independence, choice, and community inclusion.

This educational series is made possible through support from the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS).
